Dr. Prashant Bhatt received his Ph. D. in Botany in 1977 from Gujarat University , Ahmedabad , India . He did his post doctoral research at the Biology Department of Yale Univeristy, USA as well as at the Agronomy Department of University of Kentucky .  USA . after receiving the prestigious National Merit Post Doctoral fellowship from Government of India and Senior Fulbright fellowship from US Education Foundation respectively. After a brief stint of teaching and academic research, he established along with his wife the first commercial micropropagation laboratory - Unicorn Biotek Ltd., later known as Godrej Plant Bioteck Ltd., at Hyderabad  in 1989. In 1999 he set up his own venture, Sun Agrigenetics P.Ltd in Vadodara,Gujarat.
